Live Everyday In the Body You Desire with TightSculpting®

Collagen is a vital protein that provides your skin with shape, smoothness, and elasticity. As you age, both the quality and quantity of your body’s collagen production go down, which can leave your skin wrinkled and saggy.

If you find yourself missing the smooth and firm skin of your youth, there are plenty of treatments available that can tighten sagging skin and encourage better collagen production for continually smoother skin.

At Lenox Medical Clinic in Chamblee and Johns Creek, Georgia, our team led by Sudha Challa, MD, offers the laser skin tightening treatment called TightSculpting® to rejuvenate your skin and help you feel confident in your own body. We explore what you need to know about this cutting-edge treatment in this month’s blog.

Understanding TightSculpting

Generally, laser skin tightening is a noninvasive procedure that uses infrared light to heat the collagen underneath your skin. The radiofrequency in the lasers changes the outer structure of the existing collagen fibers and starts the production of new collagen. This helps your skin appear tighter and smoother as a result.

TightSculpting is unique because it actually uses dual-wavelength lasers. First, the PIANO® pulse laser targets the layer underneath your epidermis to break apart any stubborn fat cells that may hinder optimal skin tightening and sculpting. Next, the SMOOTH® pulse laser triggers new collagen production and tightens lax skin.

You can use TightSculpting to shape and tighten almost any area on your body that you’re not happy with. Common areas treated with laser skin tightening include the stomach, neck, face, and jawline.

What to expect from your TightSculpting session

If you decide that you’d like to try out TightSculpting, Dr. Challa and our team first sit down with you to discuss your goals and make sure laser skin tightening is right for you. You might not be a good candidate for the procedure if you’re pregnant, have active acne breakouts, or have skin cancer.

To prepare for laser skin tightening, you need to avoid chemical treatment and facial peels and also wear sunscreen daily for a month before your session.

On the day of your treatment session, Dr. Challa uses the TightSculpting technology to expertly and precisely apply the lasers to the desired areas. After the procedure is done, you can immediately return to your normal activities.

You may notice some results right away, but optimal skin tightening and sculpting typically happens after several sessions.
